Our Commitment to Sustainability
By organizing trips and programs close to nature, our goal is for participants to attain a deeper level of genuine experience. To feel first hand the incredibly breathtaking landscape of western Canada and the Rockies. We uphold a high principal of sustainability and ecological commitment to the areas in which we undertake our trips. We partake in low impact tripping and camping practices, and a 1.5% portion of all bookings goes towards local conservation programs as well as carbon offsetting initiatives to minimize our companies carbon footprint.
In addition to providing an amazing experience, safety is our number one concern. Our team of guides and instructors are extensively trained and certified, and we pride ourselves on our strong safety record. Although guides may seem to be easy going, and humorous, they are knowledgeable and experienced, and all of our staff has a strong commitment for providing exceptional service.
Whenever transportation is included in a trip, it is provided by 15 seater vans. Equipment and luggage is transported in either trailers or roof racks. This includes any transportation between airports and hotels or youth-hostels.
The romantic atmosphere of the outdoors and a burning campfire is central to what we do. Accommodation is usually in the form of the highest quality four-season tents. Depending on the individual trip, accommodation can also include, hostels, lodges, or hotels. The type of accommodation is always outlined on the itinerary of each program.
Group Equipment and Outfitting
We use only the highest quality outdoor equipment. We realize that in the rugged and extreme conditions of the outdoors, only the best equipment will do. Our gear is selected according to each individual program, tour, or expedition, and it is suited and designed to keep you comfortable and safe. When required we also carry GPS and satellite phones in the improbable case of emergencies.
Throughout our trips and programs, meals are cooked by wood fire, or on a wood or gas stove. Meals are delicious and nutritious, and we strive to provide a diverse and abundant menu. Vegetarian options are also available.
Skill Level and Ability of Participant
Fun and having a great time is our number one priority. Most of our trips (unless otherwise specified) require no previous outdoor skills or experience. We provide all the necessary training.
